OBX Jeep Rental — About

About OBX Jeep Rental

OBX Jeep Rental is a locally run Jeep rental brand based in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, renting beach-capable 4x4 Jeeps across the entire Outer Banks — from Carova and Corolla down through Nags Head to Hatteras and Ocracoke. Every vehicle in the fleet is beach-legal and rents with recovery gear on board, and every booking runs through OBX Drive, our local online booking desk, with live availability and secure checkout.

We are not a national chain and not a peer-to-peer marketplace. The fleet comes from local hosts who live here, drive these beaches, and set their vehicles up for sand: tires that can be aired down, tow strap and shovel in the back, and a walkthrough at handoff that covers tire pressure, tide timing, and the wild-horse rules north of Corolla.

What we actually do

One thing, properly: 4x4 Jeeps that are ready for the Outer Banks' driving beaches. That means the Carova 4x4 area north of Corolla, where the wild horses live and the beach is the road, and the Cape Hatteras National Seashore ORV ramps, where a National Park Service permit and aired-down tires are required. Our Carova beach driving guide and the free trip-planner tools on the home page exist so renters get out and back without a tow.

How booking works

There's no rental counter. You pick a Jeep and dates on OBX Drive, see the exact total, and check out online — any day, any hour. Most hosts deliver to vacation rental homes between Corolla and Nags Head; handoff includes the keys, the recovery kit, and the air-down briefing. Drivers are typically 25+ with a valid license and standard insurance; each vehicle's page lists its exact requirements.
